Leo: 8 month old male Silver Tabby
Leo was brought in as an emergency shortly after being hit by a car. He was extremely stressed, in a lot of pain and was unable to walk. After being stabilised and given pain relief, he was X-rayed. This revealed an unusual combination of severe injuries; he had a dislocated hip with a fracture of the ‘ball’ part of the joint, his pelvis was fractured in a number of places and in addition one side of his pelvis had separated from its attachment to his spine.
Luckily Leo is insured, so early the next morning he was seen at Anderson Sturgess Veterinary Specialists in Winchester. Here he was taken care of by Andy Moores (an orthopaedic specialist) and his team. The Xrays here show Leo’s injuries, and how they looked after being expertly pinned and screwed back together.

He was back at home within 3 days of his accident. Before long, Tracey and Albert were having difficulty keeping him quiet. Spring had sprung and Leo wanted to be out and about again. At his six-week check he was back to full activity with no remaining lameness.
As you can see, Leo is now a happy boy again, albeit with a few less of his lives. Hats off to Andy Moores and the rest of the Anderson Sturgess team.
